A great piece of social history! Painted on an old wooden door panel, this rare sign has great content with lovely naive signwriting.The inscription reads... 'H.M. Courthouse, Rye, Ribald Persons & Raucous Female Persons Will Be Removed from These Chambers'.
This highly unusual sign would make a great display item for any collector or in a commerical setting.... a real conversation piece!
The sign is in good original conditon, with some surface marks and scuffs.
