Description

This stunning Victorian silver chatelaine has an embossed pierced clip hallmarked Chester 1901 and was crafted by one of the top silversmiths, James & William Deacon.

All five chains are original to the chatelaine and each one is hallmarked. The silver accessories were made in Chester, London & Birmingham. The quality of the craftsmanship is superb, this would have once belonged to a wealthy Victorian household.

Chatelaines would have been used daily by either the lady of the house or her housekeeper. The chatelaine would have been clipped over the ladies waistband and would have hung down ready to be used.

Each chain is mounted with a useful household appendage and comes with the following silver items:

Vesta Case hallmarked Chester
Perfume Bottle hallmarked Birmingham
Button Hook hallmarked Birmingham
Folding Manicure Set hallmarked Birmingham
Pencil Holder hallmarked Sampson Mordan London

Rare to find, this chatelaine is in very good antique condition. This fabulous piece will add something very special to any silver collection.
