Beautiful Japanese Kokeshi Doll (Yajiro style) handmade by Tatsuo Sato who was a Kokeshi artisan in Yajiro village, Miyagi Prefecture in Northern Japan. This traditional wooden doll is signed on the base by Tatsuo Sato who passed away in 2009. This rare item, hand painted with red and black color decoration, is in excellent condition for its age.

Kokeshi dolls are highly collectable and great pieces to add to your vintage, eclectic or contemporary interiors. They look stunning anywhere in the home - either as single pieces or displayed in a group.
