Patinated bronze signed Eurydice representative and marked 1851 Paris

Eurydice was the wife of Orpheus. Pursued by Aristaeus, she was bitten by a snake and dies. Inconsolable, Orpheus sings and the gods give her descend into Hell to save her. With the sound of his lyre, Orpheus asleep Cerberus, the dog of Hell, then it happens in front of the monarchs of the underground world, Hades and his wife Persephone. Impressed by his courage and love, pray Persephone Hades Eurydice make her husband. Hades agrees, only on condition that Orpheus does not turn before exiting the Underworld.
