Description

A pretty 19th century display cabinet, this has glazed sides and is inlaid with floral design marquetry, with decorative stringing and crossbanding. Standing on bun feet, the inside has been painted white and has two removable shelves with attractively shaped fronts. It will make a lovely piece for china display and can either be left freestanding on the feet, or could be fixed in place using the holes in the base and a metal loop which is attached to the top at the back. A great piece for any home.

Dating to circa 1850, this is made of oak and glass, and originates from England.

In good age related condition, the piece has the signs of wear expected for nearly 200 years of use. There are minor signs of old woodworm in the back panel, but this is no longer active. There is a small chip from the bottom front corner of the right door, but this is not obtrusive. There are two internal screwholes either side of the base where it has been fixed in place at some point. The lock is not original and there is a small gap visible between the doors at this point when they are closed, but the key is available and the lock works.
