Victorian Papier Mache Sewing Box. A very attractive sewing box decorated with painted flowers and flora. The flowers have elements of mother of pearl decorating them and a circular cartouche decorated with the same. Each corner of the box has further mother of pearl decoration. The interior has several sections and compartments and the top layer can be lifted to reveal a further compartment underneath. The box comes with six mother of pearl spools and various sewing implements, including a button hook, file, threader and other tools all with mother of pearl handles. This is a compact pretty box.
Minor damage to one of the spool ends and some wear to the box otherwise the piece is in good condition.
Age related wear has caused some damage to the hinges over time and may need slight repair.
