Description
A striking architectural piece, this heavy solid oak press screw from France has been adapted for use as a pedestal stand. At one time this would have been a hand crafted screw element of a mechanical wine press at a vineyard in the French countryside. It is a great industrial sculptural piece and will make a talking point for any room, as well as being a functional surface for an art piece, plant or vase.This is a solid piece in good age-related condition. There are stress cracks in the screw at various points, but these would be part of its working history.
