Description

Good Selection of Early English Mathematical Sectors: 1/ Very Early Brass Sector, 10.1/4" inch Limbs with numerous Scales including Astronomical & Metal Symbols Etc. 20.1/2" inches open.
Made of Five Layers of brass, riveted construction, with Spline, weighs 3/4 Kilo, Good Condition. Unsigned but certainly made by one of Top London Rule Makers of the Period, Ca.1630. £3000
2/ John Worgan 6 Inch Sector signed: J Worgan. Fecit. Scales & Lines to include: Chords, Numbers, Solids, Polygons, Lines & Rare Lines of Superficices, these were not seen very often after 1730. There's a 12" inch English Rule on the Sectors edge. Please note the Tudor Rose each side of the hinge. Ca.1690 £1000
3/Thomas Heath 12" inch large Boxwood Sector signed: T Heath. Fecit. Very small chip on
end of one Limb, Good Colour. Ca.1735. £750.
4/Unusual Slim example 6" x 7/8" 1.65mm thick. Usual scales: Sines, Tangents, Chords & Polygons etc. with slip case. Ca. 1800 £300
