Description

This is a large Victorian period antique goffering iron, also called an 'Italian' or 'Tally' Iron.
It is made of cast iron and would have been heated by inserting a poker and used to iron or flatten cuffs, collars and ruffles on clothing.

They were often made in sets of graduating size.

We are based in Cornwall and have over 40 years experience of dealing in antiques of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

We do not sell reproductions or copies.

Most of our sales are made remotely via websites such as Antiques Atlas, and we are always happy to discuss and answer questions about our stock by email or phone. Please do get in touch.
Viewings can be arranged by appointment here in Cornwall and we will always explain the history of our stock and restoration work that has been carried out.


PAYMENTS Bank Transfers Credit/ Debit Cards and Paypal are accepted.
