Description

Rare early Georgian Tipstave, or Policeman's ceremonial truncheon circa 1830 in date. Incorporating a finely turned baluster handle and mallet shaped top, all made from Cuban Mahogany and all in beautiful untouched condition. It also has a well executed hand painted and gilt Royal Coat of Arms incorporating the Prince of Wales feathers, , and also lettered 'GR III' with a shield shape and laurel leaf design to the truncheons opposing face. A real gem, and a rarity in this condition, which boasts of such fine and well painted original decoration, making for a super rare Georgian Policeman's Truncheon, the like I have not seen in 35 years of dealing.
