Description

A rare and beautiful ornament, this is an antique Nautilus shell cup with lid, mounted with silver. It was likely made in India, and dates from the late 19th century.

It is beautifully made with fine details, the shell has stunning iridescent colours.

It appears in mostly very good condition, the shell just has one tiny hole on the back side, see in the images. The hinge of the lid is missing the small pin that holds it together, so the lid just lifts on and off instead of swinging open.
