A superb 17th Century map of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland by Frederic de Wit. The map is embellished with a beautiful cartouche with mermaids, cherubs and the heraldic shield of the Royal House of Stuart (King Charles II).

Frederic de Wit was one of the leading Amsterdam map makers of the late 17th Century, the time when the Dutch were the masters in this field.

Dated 1690, and newly framed in a classic 'Hogarth' frame.
