Description

A Glengarry for a member of the 2nd Battalion of the Hertfordshire volunteers.
The Hertfordshire volunteers were formed in Hertfordshire in 1859 to counter a possible French Invasion. They would later go on to serve in the second Boer War, WW1 and WW2 as part of the Hertfordshire Regiment.
The Glengarry was utilised by many British Regiments as the undress cap from circa the 1860’s to the end of the 19th century. This example is in generally good condition with a bit of moth damage and original Victorian badge as shown in the photographs .
