Description

A item of interest, with great provinence, this little side table came from the workshops of one of Manchesters leading cabinet makers. Lamb of Manchester were and are still known for producing quality work and this Golden Oak table is no exception. Sitting of the original brass up castors this table dates from the 1800s, it has a name inside the drawer 'Grace Andrew 1861'. We do not know if this was the purchase date or who this was but suspect it may have been the first owner. The graining in the timber is good with the Oak being quarter sawn to expose the Medullary rays. This table has great flexibilty, as well a good looks, it could serve as a small dressing table or a desk perhaps. It has a little hint of the Arts and Crafts Movement which was certainly of interest to Lambs at the time. Keenly priced and with historical interest to.
