Description

This tall mahogany bookcase has four useful shelves. This were originally adjustable and can be again with ease. They have been fitted on good strong runners in the past and that is as it is today. The side uprights are in oak which has been veneered in mahogany on the outside. Good indication that this is good quality as you would normally expect to see this on pine.
In superb condition, really clean and tidy, this cabinet will hold a good few books or can be used as a display cabinet or whatever you may require. We assume it has been used as a display, possibly for plates as it has a support bead on each shelf. On the detachable cornice there is a sliver plaque dated 1904 when this was given by the original owner to his favourite organisation. We would suggest it may well be a little earlier than 1904, so possibly it was not new at that time.
We have been in business for 40 years and are now coming up to retirement. We are in consequence looking to reduce our stock, Delivery can be arranged with a specialist carrier for around £70 to most areas.
