Description
A substantial and impressive Victorian dining table crafted in beautifully figured mahogany dating to the late 19th century. The top is of elongated oval form, displaying rich figuring and a well-defined moulded edge, supported on boldly carved claw and ball legs, a classic and highly sought-after Victorian feature.The carving to the legs is confident and crisp, giving the table strong visual presence while retaining elegant proportions. This form is both decorative and highly practical, making it an ideal centrepiece for a large dining room or formal entertaining space.
Based on its length and proportions, the table would comfortably seat 10 people, depending on chair width, making it particularly appealing for family dining or entertaining.
Condition
Very good antique condition, with a rich colour and attractive patina throughout. Minor surface marks and gentle wear consistent with age and use. The table is solid, sturdy and presents extremely well.
