Description

A fine pair of tall antique silver-plated candlesticks, elegantly proportioned and standing on substantial shaped bases. Each example features a tapering column shaft rising from a stepped lobed base, decorated with scrolling foliate and rococo-revival ornament.

The removable sconces are finely worked with matching chased borders. Subtle copper tones visible beneath the silver plate are consistent with quality period manufacture and add depth to the surface.

The candlesticks have excellent presence, their notable height giving strong visual impact when displayed on a sideboard, console, or chimneypiece. A decorative and versatile pair, suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Condition

In very good antique condition, with light surface wear and gentle rubbing to the silver plate commensurate with age and use. Minor copper bleed is visible in places. Both candlesticks retain their original removable sconces.
