Rare Hamburg Silver Stamp Holder c. 1850

Beautiful and most unusual, this solid Hallmarked silver stamp case has a button for attaching in ones waistcoat or jacket - it is fully hallmarked for Hamburg Germany Johanne HJ Wienick assay mark and Lux for Meister Alexander Ferdinand Lux Hamburg ca. 1839-1864. Measuring c. 3.2cm x 2.7cm (16.3g) - beautifully engine turned to the top all clasps and hinges are fine, I doubt this little beauty has seen the light of day for over 100 years!.DateEarly Victorian :
