Description

An impressive French brass cased striking & repeating carriage clock. An enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. A gilded inner dial masking. Fluted side columns and decorative stepped mouldings to the base and top. A well detailed handle to the top. The dial is signed 'David Crichton, Edinburgh' as the retailer.

An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. Stamped 'EGL Paris 3383' A lever escapement visible through the top glass. A repeater button to the top. Circa 1895.
