"Envelope form" writing box

Description

A writing box of "envelope form", burr veneers to top and sides with a single brass line inlay.
Flap lift to reveal a good quality, leather tooled writing surface, lift out pen tray, two compartments for inkwells and a padded tool cover.
The lift out tool tray covers a satinwood veneered storage compartment. The mother of pearl tools include a letter opener, page turner, thread waxer and seal. The crest on the seal shows connections to 1st Baronet Sir William Hoy MacNaghten. More information supplied by the Royal College of Arms is available on request.
