Early 20th century Simplex stepladder

Description

Scarce pine stepladder No. 1, by Simplex circa 1910. Decorative features such as the shaped top handles and years of paint give this loads of character. Closing is simply achieved by lifting the centre iron pivot . This is cast with the text SELF ACTING PATENT NO.8856

The second to bottom step has has repairs and the bottom step has a little damage in the tread. This item is NOT to be used to take your weight - it's for decorative or light functional use only ie fabric draping.

Size : height open 192cm, width at bottom 55cm, width at the top step 35cm.
