Portrait of Sir George Moore Chamberlin D.L.J.P.(1846 -1928) by Faith K Boswell (later Sage). Pastel. Size - 28" x 23".
Sir George Moore Chamberlin was born in Norwich and he passed through almost all stages of civic life, having been Councillor, Alderman, Lord Mayor (twice), Chief Magistrate and High Sheriff of Norfolk. He was Knighted in 1919. His very successful business career saw him as Managing Director of the family's prestigious "Chamberlins" Department store on Guildhall Hill, Norwich, as well as being a director of many other businesses in Norwich, London and Brighton.
In excellent condition behind glass.
