A stunning pair of high quality 19th.Century Kingwood side cabinets. Of serpentine form to both fronts and sides with conforming beautiful rouge variegated marble tops and thumb moulded edges. The friezes having acanthus cast ormolu mounts with drawers below. The 2 doors with marquetry inlaid panels of baskets of flowers and tied ribbons in exotic woods against fiddle back mahogany background and set within ormolu mounts and rosewood cross banded frames. The doors open to reveal a polished mahogany interior with adjustable shelf and working locks with keys.The rounded stiles having feathered cross banding and wonderful ormolu caryatid mounts, the further cross banded sides with boxwood and ebony stringing and quarter veneered centres and ormolu mounts. The cabinets are raised on conforming plinth bases with further quality mounts, stringing and cross banding. This stunning pair of cabinets of wonderful proportions, retain all their original gilded ormolu mounts and are in very very good condition with a historic flaw to one marble top which has been repaired in the past.
