A good quality George II blanket box or silver chest on stand. Constructed from fine figured mahogany with moulded edge above a shaped brass escutcheon with working lock & keys. Below are 2 useful oak lined drawers both retaining the original brass handles and again with working locks & keys and the sides with original shaped brass carrying handles.The stand centred with a decorative carved shell with shaped friezes and raised on short cabriole legs with pad feet. Condition and colour very good with slight shrinkage repair to top but nothing serious. Dimensions:- Max.Height…41’’/ 104cm. Max.Width…49.5’’/ 126cm. Max.Depth…24.5’’/ 63cm.
