A very good and unusual Goncalo Alves serpentine shaped open bookcase. The beautifully figured top having a thumb moulded edge above the cross banded and beaded frieze. The open section having 2 adjustable shaped shelves flanked by superb acanthus and “C” scroll carved stiles. The bookcase is raised on a serpentine shaped plinth with panelled back and the whole in very good original condition. Dimensions:- Height…36’’/ 91.5cm. Width…43’’/ 109cm. Depth…14.5’’/ 37cm.
