Description

A superbly modelled 19th.Century naked female Parian figure from the respected Robinson and Leadbeater factory of Stoke, England. The naked lady preening her hair with her robes draped on the rocks below. NOTE. Edward Leadbeater and Frederick Robinson bought the Glebe Street Works, Stoke in 1865 from Giovanni Meli, they also bought the parian moulds. This gave them a high standard of quality from the beginning. The chief designer was Roland Morris who oversaw a consistency of design. “Few if any firms rivalled the quality of parian produced at the Stoke factory” Condition- perfect.
