An unusual Meiji period cinnabar and black lacquer Shodana cabinet. The cabinet has very good releif carved detail of typical Oriental scenes including debating scholars, willow trees, chrysanthemums and birds etc. Consisting of 4 sliding doors, pair of hinged doors, 3 drawers and various open shelves and all raised on a conforming stand with shaped legs.
