The red ground lacquer decorated with typical Chinese scenes including willow trees, pagoda, mountains and fishermen all in raised lacquer with gilded highlights. The cabinet has 4 doors with working locks with keys and open to shelved interiors. Between the cupboards is a useful pull out slide which suggests this cabinet was intended to be used as a cocktail cabinet.
