Original slip but new frame.
Signed and dated 1912.
Charles Ernest Butler, born in 1864 at St Leonards On Sea, Sussex, was a portrait and landscape painter, as well as mythological and other figure subjects. He studied at St Johns Wood Scool of Art and also RA schools.
He exhibited at RA, The London Salon and the Walker Gallery, Liverpool. He died in 1933.
