A rare and unusual cast Iron fireback from the second half of the 17th century, dated 166.... A good honest example that if definitely not a reproduction, unlike so many on the market. With lots of wear and an old repair. It is a good-looking example with a coat of arms flanked by a pair of early-looking lions rampant.
