Hunt Antique Mirrors

Description

A large mid 19th century giltwood and painted landscape overmantle mirror most likely of Irish manufacture. Much original gilding remained after stripping and some areas regilded and toned in sympathy with the original surfaces. The background is painted which is an unusual occurrence in frames such as these. It is an ivory coloured gesso which is also variable in tones as it has had a good number of years of existence.
62" / 160 cm wide
51" / 129 cm high
The glass is an old plate though not the original. I estimate mid 20th century.
If required I will be able to regild the background and tone to match the existing gilding.
