Description

A late 17th Century English School oil on canvas half-length portrait of a lady, bearing a date of 1674 and painted when the sitter was 49 years of age.

Portrayed wearing a hood, with ringlets in her hair, pearl earings and necklace and a velvet bodice with silk and lace blouse.

The sitter and artist are unknown.

Presented in an associated 19thC gilt gesso frame.

Condition - cleaned and re-varnished. Surface wear to the frame commensurate with age.
