Description

A superb 19th Century beechwood open armchair in the 17th Century manner. This antique chair has a carved x stretcher and is raised on elegantly curved reeded legs, terminating in scrolled feet. The sweeping and scrolled arms are also reeded and carved with acanthus leaves. This substantial chair, dating from the Victorian period, has been re upholstered in our workshop in a beautiful linen weave fabric in a natural shade. There is evidence of some historic minor woodworm to the arm (this has been treated)this only adds to the character of this antique chair. The chair stands well and is very comfortable. A high quality antique armchair that would add style to any interior.
