Description

A charming Edwardian purple crocodile leather dressing case with a matching purple silk moire lining by Mawson, Swan and Morgan of Newcastle. This stunning antique case contains most of the original fittings including, silver backed brushes,mirror and silver topped bottles with a London hallmark, 1905. In addition there are essential travelling items such as a leather jewellery box, needle case, card case and manicure set (not complete)All these leather pieces are lined in the same silk moire. There is also a letter opener, glove stretchers and a small white metal spirit heater,housed in a silvered metal box for warming curling tongs. The overall condition is very good, there is a small historic repair to the leather at the front of the case which is not easily visible and slight wear and cracking to the handle. The leather case and accessories are stamped with the makers name throughout. This is a wonderful piece of Edwardian travelling history reflecting the elegance of an earlier era.
