Antique Squirrel cage with wheel. This rare wooden version of the squirrel cage rarely survived and few are in such nice condition. Squirrels were kept as pets through out Victorian and Edwardian America and quite popular. This cage has three holes in the wheel for the squirrel to access, it does have some old worm holes and internal scratch marks from the squirrels wanting out and there is a small chunk out of the end of the roof section.Measures 56cm wide by 27cm deep and 31.5cm high.
