Description

It’s not often a humble piece of pine furniture can provide details as to its previous life. This great chest of drawers can give us a glimpse of its past just from the label to the back. It is quite feasible, especially with the knowledge the legs and handles to this piece still unscrew it was used as a piece of campaign furniture and served an officer overseas during the period of empire.

Of pine construction with a superb scumble finish in imitation of oak, even quarter sawn oak in places. Now dry scraped of multiple layers of paint revealing this striking original colour scheme. 2 over 2 arrangement of drawers with original handles (later painted) the whole standing on turned feet.
