1950s sideboard in Tola wood by Meredew.

At Hawthornes we like to take these mid century classics and give them a new lease of life with an updated colour scheme. We start by removing all of the old surface finish which allows us to replace with modern lacquers. Three coats of clear to the Tola wood body, our own duck egg blue/grey to the six drawer fronts and satin black to the under frame.

Please don't confuse our pieces with inferior hand painted items. Our French polisher has so far had 26 years experience and he uses modern spray lacquers for a finish as good as any new furniture.
