19thC French Boulle Style Papier Mache Box

Description
A lovely 19th century French papier mache jewellery box delicately painted throughout to replicate boulle marquetry.The box has a brass emblem and studded ivorine straps to the lid, which opens to reveal an original fitted interior with two open compartments and one lidded.
The box has a great patina, showing signs of wear throughout commensurate with age but remaining bright and striking. The interior lid has a small nick to the lower left edge and it is missing its lock catch (please see photographs).
