Description

A stunning late 19th century Victorian gilt gesso overmantle mirror, surmounted by a putto with foliate detail to the crest and borders.

The mirror frame has been re-gilded and retains the original plate which has small areas of foxing and marks commensurate with age. There is a small area of cracking to the gesso moulding to the top left and there is evidence of a historic repair to the putto at the rear (please see photographs). The mirror retains its original back boards.

A very attractive mirror of lovely proportions.
