Description

A fine gothic walnut overmantel mirror of large proportions, circa. late 19th century. Likely North European in origin.

The ogee arched bevelled plate is flanked by intricately carved spiral columns, each surmounted by a finely carved beast, the whole beneath an urn flanked gothic cresting.

Original plate with areas of foxing throughout but remains wholly reflective. Evidence of historic repairs and restorations in areas but overall the piece is of very good colour and excellent proportions. Displays very well indeed.
