Description

An elegant early 20th-century (or very late 19thC) brass skeleton clock presented in its original glass dome. The finely cut brass frame and exposed movement showcase the intricate workings, and a bell & hammer mechanism strikes once per hour.
Raised on its original white marble plinth, this decorative clock reflects the enduring appeal of traditional horology. The origins of the skeleton clock goes back to the days of seven year apprenticeships. As their last piece the apprentice would hand-make every aspect of a skeleton clock, from the frame to the chain and every wheel and cog in between, so that an adjudicator could judge their skills without having to look around, or remove, a case.
This eight day, fusée movement, clock is a superb collector’s piece and stylish addition to any room. As well as being a beautiful interiors piece, it is also ideal for enthusiasts of vintage skeleton clocks, domed clocks, and finely crafted brass timepieces.
