Large French Ormolu Photo Frame.c.1890

Description
A beautiful large French Ormolu Photo Frame Lined with original Cream Moire Silk which is mounted with Gilt/Ormolu Symbolic Images. The top surmounted with Wreath Cresting. The aperture for Photos has been relined in pale green Silk.The back has original covering which has been restored, the support has been securely repaired and has original black Tape.There are Steel Pins on Frame which can be removed easily to access the interior 'Frame' for Photograph.Dimensions:-33cms x 27.5cms ( Max Height to Cresting:-38.5cms.c.1890-1900. The Photo of Editorial from Country Life 1983 was with the Frame when purchased.Have researched Major Basil Karslake and believe a Photo of Him and Family were originally in the Frame which was why I had to re line the Centre with Pale Green Silk as it was exposing the original brown Card backing.I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antique Shop, 53, High Street Heathfield E.Sussex.If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are not on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in the Shop.
