Alfred MOULLION (1832-1886) French School Brittany 1880

A tranquil landscape depicting a figure on a coastal path set before a wildflower festooned field of wheat, typical of the delicate work of Alfred Moullion. Signed, dated 1880, painted on a wooden panel and presented in its original frame.

Moullion was a Parisian artist who painted predominantly in Brittany. He studied under Delestre and Leroy de Bonnnerville. Between 1864 and 1886 he exhibited at the Salon, where in 1880 he received a bronze medal.

Both painting and frame in good bright original condition.
