Description

A refined Regency mahogany Pembroke table, the finely veneered top featuring ebony and satinwood line inlay enclosing a wide mahogany crossbanded border. Each leaf lifts smoothly into place supported on original pivoting fly-brackets to extend the table when required. The table is raised on four finely turned legs terminating in original brass cup castors, with a deep drawer to one end running nearly the full length of the table.

A textbook Regency Pembroke table with useful proportions reflecting the continued shift toward adaptable, space-saving furniture in the early nineteenth century.

Presented in very good antique condition with a warm, even patina and some surface marks and historic wear appropriate to a piece of this age. The drawer runs well, the fly-brackets operate smoothly and the table is structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
