Description

Wall Hanging Victorian Cast Iron Royal Coat of Arms Plaque or a Royal Warrant Sign.
Depicting the royal crest with a crown, crowned lion and a unicorn, inscribed on a "white ribbon": DIEU ET MON DROIT.
The shield in the centre is divided into 4 quarters representing England, Scotland and Ireland and is surrounded by the inscription: HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE.
Has two small holes on both sides of the shield for wall mounting.
Very heavy item - almost 1.7kg in weight. Possible later overpaint.
Very good condition for age. Great quality decorative piece.
Approx. 30cm across and 22cm tall.
Weight over 1.7kg.
