Antique 9ct Gold Scarab Beetle PendantExceptionally large iridescent green scarab beetle mounted in 9ct gold band decorated with 7 gold ball head pins.
Scarab beetles, as symbols of renewal and rebirth, were popular during the Egiptian revival in the Victorian era and in the early 1900s. The style of this pendant (its mount and the "9CT" stamp plate) indicate Victorian period after 1854.
Stamped "9CT" on the rim.
It is an extremely rare and stunning piece of jewellery.
Approximate measurements: 50mm long and 20mm wide plus decorative gold pins.
Weight: 8.40g.
