Georgian Turned Wood Seal Box and Red Wax Seal,Early 19th C
Turned circular hardwood (lignun vitae/ebony?) box unscrews to reveal a red wax seal.
The motto on the seal reads:
"ODI PROFANUM" ("I hate the profane" - possibly motto of Viscount Blakenham, going back to Earls of Listowel).

A wonderful desk accessory in great condition including a fine thread.
