1852 Family Devotional Bible,Matthew Henry,in 2 Volumes: The Old and New Testament.

Printed and Published by John Tallis and Company, London and New York, 1852.
Leather bound with lovely embossed edges or hard covers and the spine with raised bands and labels.
Both volumes – in excellent condition on the outside with just some minor age wear to leather on edges (corners) of boards.
Inside covers decorated with typical 19th C colourful “marbled effect" paper with wavy lines. Endpapers reinforced with dark red tape.
Some foxing (as shown in photos) and other minor wear inside (one page – water damaged, a couple pages with a glued tear).
Overall tight text block but The Old Testament has its binding weakened at flyleaves (due to the weight of the volume - shown in photo 3)but the cover is still attached to the book!
Numerous illustrations inside.
Very decorative books which display well.
