Description

This is a beautiful 19th century Tibetan brass amulet box (gau) of arched form. The top mounting brass cover is engraved with Kalachakra character, fits neatly over a recessed lip to the base opening and closing to a flush appearance. The lid and base are fitted with lovely copper corresponding "lugs" to the left and right sides allow a locking cord to be added. There is a lovely patina and colour to the brass and the copper of the gau representing the age of the gau beautifully.
