Beautiful portrait of a young woman possibly Spanish.

John Phillip was a Scottish born artist who under the sponsorship of Lord Panmure attended the Royal Academy School in 1837. Through health related reasons he spent some of his years working in Spain which earned him the nickname 'Spanish Phillip'. He is widely exhibited around the world in both oils and watercolours.

There is very good article dated September 2014 on the royalacademy.org.uk articles of the month site.

The photographs give a true and fair representation of its condition and visual appearance. The frame measures 21 inches by 23 inches. The frame may be original but with a new back or an in the style of replacement.
